About Gunjan R. Talati

Gunjan Talati is a government contracts partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP.  His practice focuses on all aspects of government contracts including suspension and debarment, bid protests, small business matters, and mergers and acquisitions. In 2014 he was recognized by the National Law Journal’s Legal Times as a 40 under 40 D.C. Rising Star for his successes in suspension and debarment matters. He has also been recognized as one of Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars in 2014,2015, and 2016.

Whereas some attorneys like working for small firms, Gunjan enjoys working for an international firm like Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, where he enjoys the benefits of a deep bench. This provides the opportunity to rub shoulders with attorneys doing any type of case and getting assistance from attorneys with a wide range of experience. Gunjan’s diverse, boots-on-the-ground experience has helped him find advantages in different situations, knowing how to handle them, knowing instinctively what works and what doesn’t work. This saves the time of having an attorney research a topic they are not familiar with and greatly improves the probability of a positive decision.

Working in Washington D.C., the products of government contracts are all around you. Gunjan’s work for government contractors has included two secondments at Fortune 100 government contractors, giving him a unique perspective on working with particular types of government contractors. He represents government contractors in a wide range of sectors, including aerospace and defense, healthcare, and IT.

At the end of the day, Gunjan loves working hard for his clients and achieving their end goals. If a client has made the choice to contact an attorney, it’s because they have a problem. Even in cases where he must wear many hats—part attorney, part counselor—Gunjan relishes the responsibility and challenge of finding the solution.
